I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO WATCH A DETAILED, STEP-BY-STEP, VIDEO GUIDE IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE DOING THIS AS A SIMPLE SPELLING ERROR OR MISPLACED FILE AND YOUR SERVER WILL NOT LAUNCH (it's not dificult at all, just has some very specific steps to follow).
* "Subscribe" via the Steam Workshop page;
* Drag & drop the "@AR10B" folder into your main DayZServer directory (path should be something like: \Steam\steamapps\common\DayZServer);
* Drag & drop "TheLANHouse.bikey" to your "keys" folder (path should be something like: \Steam\steamapps\common\DayZServer\keys);
* Open the .bat file used to launch the server (if you use another method, make sure to just add the command to list the mod) and list the mod there by adding, in the appropriate line, the following: "@AR10B;" (use "-mod=@AR10B;" if its the first mod in that line);
* Locate your servers "type.xml" file. Copy the contents of the "type.xml" provided in the downloaded folder and paste it as to not break the formating.
* If you wish to use the alternate config file with Full Auto fire, change the name of it to "config.cpp" and leave it in that folder so the server loads that specific one. Backup the original mod config.cpp!
[Notes]
- Since most engravings are on the actual .p3d model, I can't replace them without unpacking, editing, packing back the model, which AFAIK is against Bohemia Interactive's TOS. I still went ahead and made a painstakingly accurate replication of how it SHOULD look like via the texture (you can see the final image on the reel with an explanation);
- This retexture was done using actual photographs and video of an actual AR-10B, specifically the one on the Forgotten Weapons video;
- Yes, I know to make this mod 100% accurate you would not be able to use FAL magazines. I made the rifle semi-auto only and use unaltered FAL magazines in order to make FAL magazines and 7,62x51 ammo more usable without disrupting the gameplay balance too much (it should spawn in Hunting and Village buildings);
- The stats on this where made using the FAL and M16A2 stats as a template, edited to more or less be as accurate to the actual real life "stats" and metrics. Not perfect but a very good approximation.
[Licensing]
- You may freely use this, add it to your server, without asking for permission. Just link the mod Workshop page (and my ArtStation if you can, so I can get an ego boost);
- Repacking allowed IF YOU CREDIT ME AND MESSAGE ME ABOUT IT. If you don't, expect a takedown notice from me. Come on, no need to deny someone credit for their hard work.
- Usage of this free-to-use modification requires ownership of a copy of DayZ.
